Hi Alyson,
Thanks so much for your recipe on how to SHAKE the BLUES!
I bumbled upon your blog this AM when searching for how to (...again...) get "glummlies" out of my life, especially on such a fine and sun-shiny morning as today. PTSD and SAD are a couple of perenial companions that I want (and need!) to have stay out of my life for much longer periods at a time. They seem to come when they want, and stay around until they decide to leave me on their own schedule. With prayer, love, and laughter we can all flourish!!! Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Jared and your family!!!
I played "St. Anne's Reel" on both the fiddle and the mandolin after I read your blog; and I sent warm and comforting thoughts to you as I played them. It has only been 14 months since I started concurrently learning these two instruments, but with everyday playing and practicing I can definitely hear much improvement. My four Maine Coon Cats (3F/1M) no longer lie on the sheet music, on the table, and then look up and dare me to play another squeaky note. And my two Siberian Huskies have long since stopped howling to be let outside whenever I start playing.
One of my favorite comedians/ventriloquists is Jeff Dunham. His side-kick "Walter" is something else, and his friend "Peanut" ALWAYS makes me laugh and feel younger again. Look them up on "Youtube".
(St.) Valentines' Day is coming up next Tuesday (14 Feb), I hope that you and Jared can go somewhere special, and that both of you have a happy and sunshiny day!!! All the Best!!! RJ

Hi Alyson,

my husband is 35 and was recently diagnosed with GBM. He is in the middle of his 6wks of treatment and had his surgery on Dec. 9th...needless to say this has been devastating although my husband is very positive which will help him greatly. I too have read about a lot of stories of ppl who have survived for a lot longer than the average...it seems that the younger the person is and the healthier they are makes the difference. Thanks for creating this blog as there is not a lot of info out there for ppl our age battling this thing, like you said it mostly hits older men.

You really make it appear so easy together with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be really one thing that I think I might by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and very broad for me. I'm looking ahead on your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the hang of it!

Alyson, you are an inspiration. I am in awe of your strength and wish you continued perserverance. I have been an admirer of yours and have been impressed with your self-confidence and passion since we met in 1998. You are an incredible person and I wish you the very best. If anyone can beat this cancer; it's YOU! Best wishes Alyson.
